Rucking is the act of walking with weight on your back. Our ruck is geared towards endurance and is intended to test your limits. 50FtF does not mandate a set weight for participants. It's your decision on how much to carry. Choose wisely!
We ruck to raise awareness for our mission, build community, and as a tribute to those who have gone before us.
We always end the ruck tired, dirty, and sore. Chafing and blisters happen. However, you will meet incredible people, make meaningful connections, and push yourself in ways you never imagined.
- Camelbacks or small backpacks are great for beginners. Avoid drawstring bags as they will cut into your shoulders.
- Start with our 10 mile ruck and see how it goes. Walk what you can with us, even if it's a mile or two!
- Season your feet as best you can.
- Eat and hydrate constantly on the ruck.
- Use our packing list.
50FtF will provide more details regarding the event via email, which includes information on nearby parking options.
If you signed up for the 10 or 25-mile portion of our ruck, a support vehicle will assist you in returning to the starting point when your course concludes. If at any time during the ruck, you feel as though you need to leave, or if you are having a medical emergency, a support vehicle will be available to take you back to the starting point. For everyone completing the 50-mile challenge, shuttles will be waiting at the endpoint to take you back to parking.
Bathrooms will be available before the ruck and at every rest stop. Opportunities to use a restroom will occur in between stops. Just make sure to tell a team member so you don’t get left behind!
Emergencies are rare, but they do happen. We will get you where you need to go, whether that’s back to your car or to a healthcare facility.
